The 90th edition of the Mille Miglia - "the most beautiful travelling museum in the world", as it was so aptly called by Enzo Ferrari - recently came to a close on the finish line in Brescia. Taking place over the weekend of the 18th - 21st of May, the historic race, perhaps the most famous of its genre, followed a thrilling itinerary. The starting point was in Brescia, with a middle stage in Rome, before returning back to the finish line once more.
Alfa Romeo, the Automotive sponsor of the event, has been the undisputed star of the Mille Miglia since its inception, with eleven wins in the years from 1927 to 1957 of the original competitive race: a record that was to remain undefeated.
The tradition of winning was repeated once again in this latest edition, with the victory of the stunning 6C 1750 GS (1931) and third place for the elegant 6C 1500 Gran Sport Zagato (1933).
Mille Miglia is more than a historic race for legendary cars, though. Attracting tens of thousands from all over the world, the event is quite simply the perfect setting to celebrate, not only the glorious past of the Brand, but also showcase all the latest news from Alfa Romeo to this wider audience of enthusiasts. The automotive gems of the past were accompanied, along the entire itinerary of the race, by Stelvio, the first Alfa Romeo SUV and the alluring Giulia. These two models had already conquered the hearts of all genuine Alfa Romeo fans worldwide and truly represent the new paradigm of the Brand in terms of style, technology and performance.
